2Timothy 1:1-4
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, according to the promise of life in Christ Jesus, To Timothy, my beloved son: Grace, mercy [and] peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day, longing to see you, even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy.
WOW! Being away from family is really tough on the heart! I personally can't wait to see each and every one of our SDBC family members this Sunday when I am back in the pulpit and Linda and I are home. We have indeed prayed for each of you night and day while away and are so looking to being home again with you! The vacation and rest was much needed as God is continuing to build within me a passion for seeing our church grow as we join Jesus in expanding His Kingdom in Scripps/Mira Mesa and beyond!
As I read Paul's introduction to his beloved friend Timothy, it reminds me of the joy I have in the Lord every time I get the opportunity to see each of you on Sunday. I pray God's grace, mercy and peace is presently filling each of you and raining upon your lives no matter what you may be facing and no matter what tests and trials you may be going through. For I am convinced God's future for each of us is beyond our comprehension and any short season of the uncomfortable, will soon be forgotten when Jesus returns to take us to our true home.
May your eyes always be heavenly focused and your perspective like a laser, focused on the eternal, as you rise above the temporary.
In all the riches of His glory and love,
Pastor Steve
