Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
In this busy season and in the business of life it is only too easy to take our eye off the MAIN THING or the MAIN PERSON. With all the drama going on in the world it would be easy to grow weary and lose heart…Allow the writer of Hebrews to refocus our gaze on what matters most in this life as you meditate on these three verses.
While you may be a Christian and think, “OK, now that I’m “going to heaven” I can “rest” knowing that I have eternal life. Well, yes and no…allow me to explain. While you do have eternal life based on faith in Christ and the promise of God, the life you have left on this earth is NOT a season of rest! There will be plenty of time for that when you get to heaven. The real question throughout the Book of Hebrews is “Are you maturing in your faith so that you will be a partner with Christ and co-reign with Him in His coming Kingdom and the new heaven and earth He will recreate? In order to become a Metachos or partner with Christ and co-reign with Him in the future, this honor or position is based on your faithfulness to Him is this life.
The Christmas story "begins" with a Child...and the Christmas story "ends" with a King
THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTOR OF OUR FAITH…The heir of all things who wants to share His Kingship with faithful believers in the future…I pray you are faithful in your walk with Christ now or re-commit to being faithful to Him in this Christmas season!
This year I promise you something different this Christmas Eve from 6-7:30PM
A message that tells the rest of the Christmas Story. Please bring all your family and friends for an evening you won’t soon forget. Lot’s of worship, lot’s of carols, children singing, drama, candle lighting ceremony, special communion service, surprises and a message of Christmas with a Jewish twist…and best of all “hug em and love em” time…to start your Christmas off right with the love and light of Christ for all men and women.
Please don’t forget there are NO CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICES, Sunday December 25th as we encourage you to celebrate the Spirit of Christmas with your family and friends on this day of rest.
Wishing you all a blessed and Spirit filled Christmas,
Pastor Steve
